Internships

My office is happy to offer an internship program for qualified students. The internship program provides an opportunity for students to learn firsthand how a congressional office operates. Interns work closely with my staff to create a team that is accessible and responsive to the constituents of Congressional District 8. Our internship opportunities are unpaid, but I am more than happy to work with students to help earn school credits.

Internships are offered in Washington DC, Sierra Vista and Tucson. Both part-time and full-time opportunities are available. Interns perform a variety of duties, including day-to-day administrative work, data entry, answering phones, giving tours of the Capitol, attending legislative meetings or hearings, helping constituents work with federal agencies, legislative research, and assisting staff where necessary.

Applications are accepted year round for fall, spring, and summer internships. Please keep in mind that internships are competitive and only a few interns are selected each semester due to office space constraints. Internships are available to undergraduate and graduate students.
