Reproductive Rights
Sen. Franken is a firm believer in a woman's right to choose and protecting women's reproductive rights has been at the forefront of his legislative agenda. Along with Senator Olympia Snowe (R-Me.) he has introduced the Compassionate Care for Servicewomen Act, which requires emergency contraception to be available on every U.S. Military Base. This bill has been enacted by the Department of Defense, ensuring that servicewomen have access to this important service.
