Introduction | Press Releases | Documents | Links
On July 18, 2007, an 83 year old steam pipe exploded in the heart of midtown Manhattan. The explosion killed one woman, injured dozens of others and devastated area businesses. Maloney called on Governor Spitzer to ask the Small Business Administration to provide disaster relief. She also provided information about available assistance to local businesses trying to recover from the disaster. Maloney conducted a week long survey of area retail businesses to assess the impact of the disaster.
