(1/1/2007)John Linder received the “Legislative Excellence Award” from the Seniors Coalition for his consistent support of senior citizens and their interests during his service in Congress. The Seniors Coalition is the nation’s fastest-growing seniors organization representing almost 4 million members, and the group stated that John has been an example to members in both chambers for his role as a champion of older Americans. The Seniors Coalition based its awards on key votes that dealt with issues of concern to its membership, such as seniors’ health care, retirement and financial security.
