House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers, Jr. today requested from the National Archives copies of any White House records reflecting the missing Justice Department e-mails of former OLC attorneys, John Yoo and Patrick Philbin, which were referred to in the recently released OPR report on OLC legal memoranda on Bush administration interrogation practices. The letter points out that any such e-mails that included White House personnel should have been preserved as presidential records, and requests copies of them pursuant to the Presidential Records Act.
A copy of the letter is attached.
