Skyrocketing costs have forced many small businesses to either shift the growing cost of their insurance programs to their employees or eliminate their health plans altogether. The result: the majority of workers haven't seen any increase in their buying power in the last decade, since any additional compensation is quickly absorbed by their increasing health insurance premiums. Ellsworth: Today’s Job Numbers Show Economy is Rebounding
Must Put an End to Outsourcing Hoosier Jobs

Evansville, IN, May 7 -

Today, on reports the U.S. economy added 290,000 jobs this month, the biggest one month gain since March 2006 while unemployment rose to 9.9 percent, Brad Ellsworth released the following statement:

"Today's report that the US economy added 290,000 jobs, 44,000 of them manufacturing jobs, the best month for manufacturing jobs since August, 1998 is a promising sign our economy is on the verge of rebounding and a testament to the strength and resilience of the American worker."

"Adding 290,000 jobs is always a positive, but the fact that unemployment is close to 10 percent is proof we still have a lot of work to do to get Hoosiers and all Americans back to work."

"I will continue working to create an environment that encourages Indiana businesses to grow and create jobs. We must be focused on encouraging pro-growth, pro-middle class economic reforms that work for Main Street, not just Wall Street. Republicans and Democrats must work together to ensure economic growth, here in America, and put an end to policies that encourage corporations ship our jobs overseas."
