LINDER STATEMENT ON VETERANS DAY
November 8, 2005
On Veterans Day, Congressman John Linder (R-GA) made the following statement:
“As was once said, ‘freedom is never free.’ This Veterans Day, we honor and salute our service men and women who have made great sacrifices so that we may live in peace and liberty. I call on everyone to show their gratitude for our veterans, as well as our men and women currently serving overseas, to let them know that their efforts do not go unappreciated.
“As we enter the holiday season, I would again encourage everyone to take this opportunity to sit down with a relative who served our nation in one of the wars to protect freedom and record their experiences so that future generations may also learn about their sacrifices.”
