LINDER OVERWHELMED BY ORLANDO FAIRTAX RALLY

July 31, 2006

Congressman Linder attended the massive FairTax rally that took place Saturday in Orlando, Florida. With the police officer in charge of security for the rally reporting 10,000 to 12,000 supporters in attendance, the event has been hailed a tremendous success.

“I can’t be more pleased with the success of the second FairTax Rally. Neal Boortz and his people put a great deal of work into the event and it was magnificent. I remember the humble beginnings of the FairTax when we were lucky to pack a room just to spend an hour explaining the bill. Now we have to close roads and detour traffic just to accommodate the thousands of supporters who show up to express their enthusiasm for this revolutionary tax reform.”

The overwhelming crowd was boisterous and energetic as they chanted for the bill they believe is the answer to this country’s quandary over tax reform. People from across the country traveled to Florida to join this grassroots movement that seems to be sweeping the nation. With the massive crowd easily exceeding all expectations, it was an even bigger success than the inaugural rally held in Georgia last May.

“Saturday’s event is a testament to the hard work that these grassroots supporters have put in for many years and I truly thank them for all of their work. But it is also a testament to the FairTax and its simple, fair, and transparent approach to taxing Americans. We have real traction now and real momentum. We will keep this up as long as it takes to convince the rest of Congress to join me and the other fifty-five co-sponsors of H.R. 25 in passing the FairTax.”

Congressman Linder went on to say that while he does not know exactly when the next FairTax rally will take place, he is very confident that there will be a third.
