Coeur d'Alene – Congressman Walt Minnick today announced that the Coeur d’Alene Public Library has been nominated for the National Medal for Museum and Library Service. "I am so pleased to have had the opportunity to highlight the great work of the Coeur d'Alene Public Library and enter them for this award," Minnick said.
"Since the library opened its new building in September 2007, it has been a shining example of the great things that happen when a community comes together to work toward a common goal." The library offers a variety of free programs and services to the local community, including sign-language lessons for babies, story hours for all ages, craft time for toddlers, puppet shows and even a Lego competition. "I hope the National Medal selection committee recognizes not only the invaluable public services and programs of the Coeur d'Alene Public Library, but also the many staff, volunteers and community leaders who made this library happen," Minnick said. "I intend to support their nomination with my strongest possible recommendation."
