Introduction

Plaza Work at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial

The National Park Service has initiated a Thomas Jefferson Memorial seawall stabilization project that will improve the appearance and long-term integrity of the Tidal Basin seawall and memorial plaza. The plaza, with its iconic view of the Washington Monument (at left), is temporarily inaccessible to the public. The Thomas Jefferson Memorial will remain open and fully accessible, however, throughout the entire project. Check back soon for details, photographs, and timelines associated with this effort.
