Stimulus Funding Will Support Projects Throughout Region

WASHINGTON, DC—Representative Steve Driehaus today announced $54,800,000 in transportation and infrastructure funding for greater Cincinnati.  Ohio Governor Ted Strickland’s office authorized support for projects which qualified for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

“When Congress passed the recovery package last month, we promised that communities across the country would see quick results.  Today, we are delivering on that promise with resources that will create and save jobs while supporting critical projects throughout the region.  This economic crisis will not disappear overnight, but this investment is an important step toward getting greater Cincinnati’s economy back on track,” said Rep. Driehaus.

The Governor’s office announced today funding for transportation and infrastructure projects throughout greater Cincinnati totaling $54,800,000.  The funding will be awarded according to the following breakdown:

· Hamilton County, Banks Transit Center - $5,000,000

· Hamilton County, Banks Street Grid - $8,000,000

· Hamilton County, Interstate 75 Rehabilitation - $6,100,000

· Hamilton County, Riverfront Intermodal Center Phase 2 - $10,200,000

· Hamilton and Clermont Counties, Eastern Corridor - $20,000,000

· Butler County, State Route 4 Bypass - $5,500,000
