Braley Announces $8,980 for North Buena Vista |
June 21, 2010
Washington, DC - Congressman Bruce Braley (D-Iowa) announced today a federal grant worth $8,980 for the city of North Buena Vista. The grant is part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development Funds. The city will use the funding to purchase new equipment for a city snow plow.
"I think all Iowans can relate to the urgent need for a snow plow," Braley said. "While Iowa currently gets a break from the heavy snow that comes with winter, I'm proud to announce this grant for North Buena Vista. With these funds, North Buena Vista's local government will be able to ensure the safety of its residents during severe weather and help keep the community open for business throughout the long winter months."
The USDA's Rural Development program is committed to helping rural communities and promoting local economic recovery through the funding of essential public services and facilities.
