U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer, Chairman of the Senate Rules Committee, released the following statement Thursday after the U.S. House of Representatives passed the DISCLOSE Act to address the Supreme Court’s ruling in the Citizens United case:
“This is a major step towards preventing undisclosed, special-interest dollars from cascading into our political system. We intend to move the DISCLOSE Act as quickly as possible in the Senate.”
