Thompson and Jackson-Lee Request GAO Assessment of Cargo Security

November 2, 2010 (WASHINGTON) – Today, Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security, and Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-TX), Chairwoman of the Committee’s Transportation Security and Infrastructure Protection Subcommittee, sent a letter to Gene Dodaro, Comptroller General Designee of the Government Accountability Office (GAO) requesting an assessment of the progress and challenges of screening and securing U.S.-bound cargo.
