 The costs associated with health care are out of control.  In the past decade, costs have doubled, and without action, these costs will double again in the next ten years.  These costs are a crushing burden on families, and our businesses are becoming less competitive because of health care costs. 

In addition, more and more Americans are becoming uninsurable.  For instance, people with health insurance may become sick, only to find that their health insurance company has found some technicality to deny them coverage.  Every day, more than 10,000 Americans lose their coverage. 

The problem is becoming worse every year – we are spending too much money, and we are insuring too few people.  The system is broken, and we have to do something about it.
