November 3rd, 2010 - - Ranking Member Lewis Congratulates New Members of Congress
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Appropriations Ranking Republican Jerry Lewis made the following statement today following the mid-term election results:
“I offer my heartfelt congratulations to the many new Members-elect that will join the House next session. This has been a challenging election season, and through hard work and by truly listening to the American people, these excellent candidates have prevailed.
“Now, they will soon come to the House and begin the hard work that voters elected them to do. We have a tremendous job ahead of us to rein in spending and get the nation’s budget on a sustainable and responsible path. The fight to accomplish these goals will take new energy, tenacity, and principled determination – all qualities these new member-elects have clearly demonstrated.
“To the new Members of Congress that will soon join this great institution, I welcome you and look forward to working with you as we fight to address the nation’s challenges and meet the needs and expectations of the voters that have given you their trust.”
