Requesting White House Tours |
|
|
|
- In order to make a
tour request, you do have to contact your Congressional office. If you reside
outside of the Fifth District of Tennessee,
we are unable to accommodate your tour request.
- Tour requests may
be placed up to six months in advance.
- While we may place
tour requests up to six months in advance, the office does not find out about
the status of the request (whether it's been approved or declined) until 2
weeks prior to the last requested date. For example, if a group requests a tour
for the week of May 14-20, our office will not find out the status of the
request until May 6.
- If a tour request
is denied, there is a very slim chance of securing a tour through an
opening or cancellation. Openings are given
out on a first-come, first-served basis. Approximately 534 offices compete for
these openings.
Here is how that system works:
- Tours must be for a
minimum of 10 people. If an office does not have 10 people to fill their tour
request, they will sometimes open up their spaces to other offices.
- Most openings will
be for 5 people or less. Thus, trying to get tour through an opening or
cancellation for more than 5 people is usually not a possibility.
- At this time, tour
requests that are not placed at least 5 months in advance will most likely not
be approved.
Should you have any questions about this, please
contact our Washington D.C. office at (202) 225-4311.
