Fairview is one of 37 municipalities in the 9^th Congressional District of New Jersey and one of 70 municipalities that comprise Bergen County.  There are approximately 13,600 residents in the borough, which shares its borders with Cliffside Park, North Bergen, and Ridgefield Township.

Located along the Hudson River and on the Palisades, Fairview was established in 1894.  Named for the vista of the Hackensack River Valley, it is in close proximity to both Jersey City and New York City, allowing it to be well-served by public transportation.
