Located along the Hackensack
River between the George Washington
Bridge and the Lincoln Tunnel, Ridgefield is a diverse town
of nearly 11,000 people. Known locally for its annual Memorial Day Parade, Ridgefield is home to the third-highest percentage of
Croatian Americans in the United States,
as well as the sixth-highest percentage of Korean Americans in the United States.
The borough of Ridgefield is the last remaining segment of
what was once Ridgefield Township-an area which stretched from the Hackensack
River to the Hudson River and included parts or all of the present day towns of
Ridgefield Park, Bogota, Leonia, Edgewater, Fairview, Teaneck, Cliffside Park,
Englewood, Palisades Park and Fort Lee.
