Home to the George
Washington Bridge,
the historic town of Fort Lee,
NJ, is a diverse community with a population of over 35,000 people. Fort Lee boasts the fifth-highest percentage of
Korean-Americans in the United
States.
Fort Lee housed General George Washington's Continental Army
as it retreated from New York and eventually through New Jersey during the latter
half of 1776, before crossing the Delaware and surprising the Hessians at the
Battle of Trenton-a turning point in the American Revolution.
Fort Lee is also considered by many to be the birthplace of
the motion picture industry in America
and as such, the Fort Lee Film Commission
celebrates by organizing the Cliffhanger
Film Festivals in the spring and fall.
