Hawthorne, one of 16 municipalities located in Passaic County, is home to approximately 18,000 residents. The town holds a number of popular community events each year, including a Memorial Day Parade, Fishing Derby, and July 4^th Fireworks. Another local attraction is the world-renowned Hawthorne Caballeros Drum and Bugle Corps who hail from the borough.

Established in 1898, Hawthorne celebrates 100 years of community. In 2006, borough residents founded The Hawthorne Historical Society, which chronicles the town history.
