On September 22, Majority Leader Hoyer and Rep. Don Payne, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa and Global Health, led a Special Order on Sudan.  The goal was to underscore Congressional support for a timely and fair referenda on Southern independence in January, to discuss the continued importance of full implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, and to make clear that Congress remains focused on ending the violence in Darfur.
