| Crowley Salutes Our Nation's Veterans |
| Washington, D.C. — Congressman Joseph Crowley (D-Queens, the Bronx) released the following statement today in honor of Veterans Day 2009: "Today, we come together as a nation to celebrate and remember the men and women who have served in uniform to protect our country and defend our freedoms at home and abroad. In particular, I want to thank the many families across the Bronx and Queens whose loves ones are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan this Veterans Day. "Congress has been working hard to keep our promise to our nation's veterans and members of the armed services. Since 2008, we have delivered a historic level of funding and resources for veterans services. From health care, to education benefits, to economic and small business services, the New Direction Congress has focused on making sure our veterans have full access to the benefits they have earned. "I salute our nation's veterans and hope that we take the opportunity every day of the year to thank them for their service to our country." ### |
