| Crowley Congratulates Clinton on her Confirmation as Secretary of State |
| (Washington, DC) – Congressman Joseph Crowley (NY-7) released the following statement today congratulating Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton on her confirmation as the next Secretary of State by President-elect Barack Obama: “Congratulations to my good friend Hillary Clinton on her historic confirmation as Secretary of State. President Obama, Vice President Biden and Secretary Clinton are the team we need to lead during these increasingly uncertain times. “I was honored to have worked with Hillary on behalf of the people of New York. All of New York is sad to be losing one of our strongest and best advocates; the entire United States is gaining an extraordinary Secretary of State who knows the world at-large. “I look forward to working with now Secretary Clinton in her new capacity, particularly on addressing the situation in the Middle East, maintaining peace in Northern Ireland and strengthening our key relationships with South Asia.
