Congressman Crowley on Arrest of Bronx Hate Crime Suspects

Washington, D.C. Today, Congressman Joseph Crowley (D-Queens, the Bronx), issued the following statement in response to the arrest of seven men accused of recently committing antigay attacks on three men in the Bronx.

“These acts of intolerance were both cowardly and appalling, and I applaud New York law enforcement for remaining vigilant in finding those responsible. There is absolutely no room in our community for acts of violence or crimes motivated by hate. These attacks are not representative of the Bronx community and we must send a strong message that we will not tolerate this kind of cruelty in our neighborhoods.”
Congressman Crowley is the six-term representative from the 7th Congressional District of New York, which includes sections of Queens and the Bronx. He is a member of the powerful Ways and Means Committee and the Committee on Foreign Affairs.
