Buchanan To Hold "America Speaking Out" Town Hall PDF Print

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan (FL-13) announced today that he will hold an “America Speaking Out” town hall meeting this month. “America Speaking Out” is a congressional effort to involve the American people in creating a new policy agenda for Congress.

“The American people are angry,” said Buchanan. “Career politicians in Washington aren’t listening, “America Speaking Out” gives the American people an opportunity for their voices to be heard.”

Buchanan’s town hall will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2010 in the Commission Chamber on the first floor of the Sarasota County Administration Center, 1660 Ringling Blvd., Sarasota, Florida (Map it). The doors will open at 10:00 a.m.

“There are a lot of important issues,” said Buchanan. “Whether we are tackling jobs and the economy, the deficit, a national energy policy or immigration, the best ideas don’t come from politicians. They come from the people. Whether you are Republican, Democrat, or Independent, I hope you will turn out and engage in this national dialogue of ideas.”

The feedback will be considered by House Republicans working on a policy agenda for 2011. Constituents can also share ideas by visiting Buchanan’s website at Buchanan.house.gov and clicking on the “America Speaking Out” link.

This is one of 10 town halls the Congressman has held this year. Please rsvp by clicking here or calling 941.951.6643.
