Agriculture

"Agriculture is an important part of Utah's economy and our nation's economy. I believe that Utah's farmers and livestock producers are essential to our food supply and I will continue to support efforts to help Utah's agricultural producers by securing funds for research, advance technology, water-shed development and predator control."

Natural Resources

"Utah is blessed with some of the most treasured public lands in America and we must do what we can to ensure these lands are protected while at the same time balancing the increasing demands of a growing population. Because of the amount of public land in Utah, local and federal efforts must work hand in hand. My Washington County Land Bill, recently signed by the president, is an example of the type of collaboration and compromise needed to tackle what have been long, polarizing debates over public lands issues in Utah."

During a Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee hearing on March 3, 2010, Senator Bennett questions Department of the Interior Secretary Ken Salazar about leaked documents that indicated potential plan to designate national monuments in Utah. The two also discuss the San Juan County lands bill. Click on the video above to hear Senator Bennett question Secretary Salazar.
