"The future of our nation and its economy depends on the success of our education system. Every young American deserves the opportunity to receive an education that will help prepare them to compete and succeed in the 21st century. I believe the best way to reach this goal is by increasing flexibility for state education programs to meet local needs, rather than issuing federal educational mandates from Washington."
