More half-truths. The legislation you are talking about was requested by the Obama administration as a result of an international agreement on how to deal with Iran. There is only so much the Administration can do to get other countries and foreign corporations to abide by the international agreement.

I think we are on the right track. The sanctions are beginning to work and it seems to me that the administration has finally been able to get France, Germany, Canada and now China and Korea to agree to actions beyond those sanctioned by the UN.

Sanctions do not have adequate support, e.g., China and Russia. Sanctions at best are weak and mostly insincere. Iran is laughing at the West and would like nothing more than to blast western civilization to oblivion. The United States must have the guts to exert leadership and threaten war. If results are not forthcoming, the United States must be willing to go it alone. We have to have guts enough to ignore the insults of the planet in general. Perhaps a small nuclear bomb should be exploded somewhere every so often with all leaders of countries there as witnesses so they can be reminded of how terrible nuclear bombs are. After the explosion we could remind all of the countries that want to develop a nuclear bomb that the USA already has plenty of them and have the means to deliver them with very good accuracy to any place on the earth using several different methods and several types of bombs. In my opinion, one real value in having a stockpile of nuclear bombs is to stop any country from ever wanting to use one. Honestly, I wish we could eliminate nuclear bombs from the planet, but I doubt that is ever going to happen.

We should understand that the Russians are using Iran's hatred of the west and jews to distract and weaken the U.S. We sould not only shut down Iran's economy but we should stop dealing with the Russians. After having read many of the above postings, I find I am in agreement with many of you on all subjects! First off, we don't have a leader in this president! He is so full of himself that he can't even smell Rome (USA) burning ! Reminds me a lot of Nero! He should never have been elected into the Washington circles for any job! Threaten Iran with a nuclear arms race which would consist of anti-missile defences around them. Initial responses would occur at high altitudes and subsequent missile launches would be intercepted nearer to the launch sites. If that does not end the threats use the one big one .
