WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Mike Michaud announced that a $475,000 investment that he worked to secure has been approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for Milo, Maine to provide city sewer services to the new Eastern Piscataquis Industrial Park.

“The release of this funding is welcome news because it will help make a real difference in the region’s ability to attract new businesses,” said Michaud.  “With this new sewer line, the industrial park will be able to market ready hook up for water, sewer, and power – something that interested businesses will certainly find valuable.  Once completed, this project will help improve the economic outlook for the area and promote job creation.”

Currently, the Eastern Piscataquis Industrial Park does not have access to Milo’s sewer system.  The funding approved today will allow the Milo Water District to upgrade an existing pipe and extend the line to reach the industrial park.  Upon completion, which is expected within the year, new businesses located in the industrial park will be able to tap into the sewer system.
