Michaud Pushes for Full Funding of LIHEAP |

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Mike Michaud is working with his colleagues to push for full funding for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). Michaud and his colleagues will be working to get signatures on a letter that will request that congressional leaders sustain the amount of funding that LIHEAP received in FY 2010, a total of $5.1 billion.
“Whether it’s through a continuing resolution or an appropriations bill, we have to get this done,” said Michaud. “There are many Mainers that rely on this important assistance to get through the winter and makes ends meet. Maintaining adequate funding of LIHEAP will help make sure Mainers get the assistance they need from this critical program.”
