Washington, DC – On Wednesday, September 22, 2010, the Chairman of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic’s National Assembly, Mr. Ashot Ghoulian, came to Washington
to thank Representative Steve Rothman (D-NJ), a member of the House
Appropriations Subcommittee on State and Foreign Operations, for his
steadfast support for the Republic and Armenia. They discussed strengthening ties between the U.S. and the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, Armeniaand the politics of the South Caucasregion. Representative Rothman expressed his strong support for continued U.S.aid to the Nagorno Karabakh Republic and Armenia. Since joining the Foreign Operations Subcommittee in 2001, Rep. Rothman has helped to secure nearly $800 million in vital aid for Nagorno Karabakh Republic and Armenia.
