Washington, DC – Representative Steve Rothman (D-NJ), a member of the House Appropriations Committee and a devoted father of two proud graduates of Bergen County public schools, released the following statement:

It’s that time of year again! The pencils are fully sharpened, erasers still clean, the teachers ready to teach, and the students ready to learn. Today, I wish New Jersey’s students, parents, teachers, administrators, and all of our educational professionals the best as this new school year commences.

We must always remember that the future of our democracy rests on our nation’s ability to educate our children and ensure that America continues to have the most highly skilled, innovative, and effective workforce in the world.
