Washington, DC – On July 15, 2010, the New Jersey Principal and Supervisors Association came to Washington, DC to thank Representative Steve Rothman (NJ-9) for his leadership on education issues and for providing federal support for teachers during these tough economic times. Specifically, they thanked Rep. Rothman for the unique role he played as an appropriator in the passage of the Supplemental Appropriations Act through the U.S. House of Representatives. This legislation would create a $10 billion Education Jobs Fund, including approximately $272 million allocated to New Jersey, to provide emergency support to school districts to prevent layoffs of school employees.
