Congressman Rothman Hosted Teen Town Hall at Fort Lee High School PDF Print E-mail
On February 12, 2010, Congressman Steve Rothman, hosted a Teen Town Hall meeting with more than 100 students at Fort Lee High School. The session lasted more than an hour and included brief opening remarks from Congressman Rothman along with a spirited question and answer segment from those in attendance. The discussion touched on a wide range of topics including: the economy, the recent U.S. Supreme Court case allowing corporations to directly buy advertisements to advocate for and against candidates, health insurance reform, federal aid to local towns, keeping schools safe, jobs, drugs, and personal responsibility.

"Questions from the students were well-informed, substantive, and challenging. I was very proud of them and very impressed," said Congressman Rothman. "As these High School students go on to be our country's future teachers, business and political leaders, and much more, it goes to show that we have a bright future ahead of us. I appreciated the opportunity to listen to and speak with them, and I am looking forward to continuing the conversation in the coming weeks with many more local students, their parents, and grandparents throughout our region."
