On February 3, 2010, Congressman Steve Rothman (D-NJ), and several other members of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Foreign Operations and State, were briefed privately by U.S. Middle East Envoy, former Senator, George Mitchell, at the U.S. Capitol for a status report on the situation on the region. Mitchell focused on the Palestinian and Israeli conflict, the prospect for a two-state solution, Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria, and Iran, among other issues."
