Washington, DC – Interested in a flag that has been flown over the U.S. Capitol Building? As a member of Congress, Representative Steve Rothman (D-NJ) has the privilege of being able to provide this unique opportunity to beautifully express ones patriotism and love of country. The Congress offers two different types of flags, nylon and cotton, which are available to the public at cost (there is no profit incurred by the office). If the flag will be flown outdoors, the nylon material is recommended since it is more durable, but if the flag will be primarily displayed indoors, cotton may be preferred as it is more elegant. Both the cotton and nylon flags are available in multiple sizes.
You can request for your flag, made of either material, to be flown over the U.S. Capitol on a specific date, but please give Rep. Rothman’s office at least two months’ notice before the flag is needed. Flags may also be purchased without being flown over the Capitol and all flags available through our office are made in the United States of America.
