Ducks Unlimited
34 Defense Street, Suite 200
Annapolis, MD 21401
$500,000
Ducks Unlimited (DU) is the world's largest and most effective wetland and waterfowl conservation organization. DU has identified 1,000 acres of wetland and wetland associated upland habitat on the Eastern Shore of Maryland to be conserved over the next five years. The Eastern Shore of Maryland is of immense importance to the ecological health of the Chesapeake Bay. These refuges provide over 27,000 acres of federally protected wildlife habitat that is open to the public. Conserving this habitat will improve water quality in the Chesapeake Bay watershed and benefit waterfowl and other wildlife species, including the endangered Delmarva Fox Squirrel and the protected American Bald Eagle.
