Congressman Steve Scalise is a proven leader when it comes to protecting Louisiana’s family values. From serving as a Member of the Louisiana State Legislature to serving in the United States Congress, Congressman Scalise has fought to promote traditional marriage and the right to life and will work against attempts to weaken these values. Congressman Scalise has been named "Outstanding Family Advocate" by the Louisiana Family Forum and is a member of the Values Action Team on Capitol Hill. As a father and husband, Congressman Scalise understands how important it is to our future to protect these values.

Protecting the Sanctity of Marriage

Congressman Scalise has worked diligently throughout his career to protect traditional marriage. Scalise has co-sponsored legislation (H.J.Res. 89) to amend the Constitution to define marriage as between a man and a woman. As a member of the Louisiana State Legislature, Congressman Scalise authored a similar amendment to the Louisiana Constitution that protects traditional marriage.

Protecting the Lives of the Unborn

Congressman Scalise believes that human life begins at conception and is fighting to protect the rights of the unborn. Scalise has co-sponsored the Right to Life Act (H.R. 618) and the Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act (H.R. 1063), legislation supported by the National Right to Life Committee. Congressman Scalise has a 100% pro-life voting record with the Louisiana Right to Life Federation and will continue to fight for the rights of the unborn in Washington.
