Grant Opportunities in the Recovery Package
March 13, 2009
Dear Fourth District Resident:
On February 17, 2009, President Barack Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) into law. ARRA provides $550 billion in funding for carefully targeted investments in our nation’s economic infrastructure and technology base. More information about the ARRA is available at www.recovery.gov.
Many businesses, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions are wondering how they can take advantage of the ARRA to advance their ideas for innovative technologies, groundbreaking research, and other important contributions to turn around our economy and restore America’s technological superiority.
Any organization interested in seeking funding opportunities through programs under the ARRA should first check for grant and contract opportunities posted on www.grants.gov or www.fbo.gov. These two sites are the primary resources for funding opportunities offered through the federal government.
ARRA funding is provided through specifically targeted federal programs, and interested organizations should seek to ensure that their initiatives meet the requirements set forth by the ARRA. You can learn more about opportunities through the ARRA by following this link, which will be updated as warranted.
The Triangle has long been a center for innovative research, development, and commercialization. Our area is the model for our nation’s economic future, and I know we can play a leading role in supporting America’s recovery.
Sincerely,
|
