Tell Me Your Story
This Month's Topic: Small Business Struggles

Over the past three years, I have had the opportunity to talk to hundreds of thousands of Nebraskans – through in-person meetings, mobile offices, community events and telephone townhalls.

I have been amazed at your insight and honesty, and I appreciate each and every conversation.

Now I have created a method for people from Nebraska’s Third District.  Tell Me Your Story.

On a regular basis, I will ask you to tell me your story concerning a specific topic.  Your stories could be personal, or simply your opinion on the matter at hand.

These stories help me do my job better.  They will not be for public dissemination, and the only way your story will be shared publicly is if I receive permission.

Tell Me Your Story on…Small Business Struggles

Our country's economy is struggling to recover. Unfortunately, small business owners are facing tremendous challenges. The prospect of higher taxes, more regulations, and even more interference from Washington is creating a chilling effect on our economic recovery.

The ongoing uncertainty is hurting small businesses and preventing the creation of private sector jobs. This doubt – especially during a time when our economy is struggling to right itself – is a recipe for disaster.

If you are a small business owner trying to create jobs in this economy, I want you to tell me your story about your experiences and what steps you feel we should take to lessen the heavy hand of government.
