About the Committee

The House Natural Resources Committee considers legislation about American energy production, mineral lands and mining, fisheries and wildlife, public lands, Native Americans, irrigation and reclamation, and oceanography.

The Committee is divided into four subcommittees and one office:

  • Subcommittee on Water and Power - responsible for matters concerning America’s water resources, generation of electric power from federal water projects and interstate water issues.
  • Office of Indian Affairs – responsible for all matters regarding Native Americans, including the 562 federally recognized tribes and Alaska Native Corporations, and nearly 1.9 million American Indians.

Republicans oppose the Democrats "National Energy Tax" bill that will transfer American jobs to India and China, close small businesses, spike energy bills and devastate our economy.
