Adoption

For all those looking for information on intercountry adoption, Adoption.state.gov is a new State Department run website devoted exclusively to intercountry adoption.  The site is a central resource for parents looking to adopt, adoption agencies and others involved in the intercountry adoption process.  It includes country specific information and background about the Hague Adoption Convention.

The site has step-by-step instructions for adopting a child from another country.  Also included is information on adoption eligibility, protections provided by the Hague Adoption Convention, and advice to prospective parents on selecting an accredited adoption agency.

I encourage you to contact either my Anchorage or Washington, D.C. offices for further assistance with intercountry adoptions.

Anchorage (907) 271-3735 or toll-free (877) 829-6030
Washington, D.C. (202) 224-6665.
