Senator LeMieux Statement on Hanukkah

WASHINGTON— U.S. Senator George LeMieux (R-FL) today issued the following statement in regards to Hanukkah, which begins at sunset tonight.

Senator LeMieux said:

“At sunset, Jewish people across Florida and throughout the world will celebrate the first night of Hanukkah’s lighting of the menorah. The lighting of the menorah commemorates the rededication of the Holy Temple of Jerusalem, and marks the determination and cause of the Jewish people to worship freely. This shall serve as a reminder to those of the Jewish faith, and to all of us to embrace our strengths, our shared values, and diversity of faiths.

“My wife Meike and I send our warmest greetings to all Floridians celebrating Hanukkah.”
