We are currently facing a health care crisis in this country where a large percentage of Americans do not have access to affordable, quality health care. We must tackle this pressing and critical issue, but do so in a way that drives down costs and does not expand the government."

Health Care Reform

On November 21, 2009, Senator Bob Bennett voted against proceeding to the Senate Democrats health care plan. On Christmas Eve 2009, during an historic vote, he also voted against the Democrats health care bill. Bennett says the Senate Democrats' bill will increase premiums, raise taxes and cut Medicare.  Watch the video below to hear the senator explain why this bill would be bad for Utahns.

  • $476,000 - Intermountain Healthcare - Patient Safety Initiative.
  • $381,000 - Utah Department of Health - Health education and screenings for people exposed to uranium tailings
  • $333,000 - Utah Navajo Health System - Montezuma Creek, UT - For facilities and equipment
  • $190,000 - Weber County - Renovation and equipment to improve health literacy
  • $285,000 - Utah Department of Health - Renovation and equipment

Fiscal Year 2008

  • $776,000 - Association for Utah Community Health - Expansion of Telemedicine Service
  • $413,000 - Weber State University - More Nurses Now Program
