The Arts in Utah

Utah Arts Council

WidowThe Utah Arts Council is the primary agency in Utah through which state and national funds are awarded to stimulate and encourage the arts in the state.

Film

Film-goers and the entertainment industry look to the Sundance Film Festival for the discovery of new talent and as a champion of films that challenge audiences and expand the boundaries of the art of film. The Sundance Institute adopted sponsorship of the United States Film Festival in 1984, creating an internationally recognized showcase for new independent cinema.

Other celebrations of film occur in Utah such as the Locomotion International Film Festival and under the direction of the Utah Film Commission or through non-profits like the Utah Film and Video Center.
