Mismanagement of Contracts at Arlington National Cemetery

On July 29, 2010, the Subcommittee on Contracting Oversight will hold a hearing entitled, “Mismanagement of Contracts at Arlington National Cemetery.” The purpose of the hearing is to examine reports of pervasive mismanagement and potential waste, fraud, and abuse in contracts at Arlington National Cemetery. In particular, the hearing will review findings from the U.S. Army Inspector General’s June 2010 reports on the Cemetery, which found “a lack of expertise in contracting processes within the cemetery, coupled with a lack of focused external oversight.”
