After the acquisition workforce, federal auditors and the offices of Inspector General are the front line in uncovering waste, fraud, and abuse in government contracts. The purpose of the hearing was to hear testimony from agency Inspectors General regarding obstacles to their investigation of contract fraud. The hearing also discussed proposed legal and regulatory reforms, including the recommendations of the National Procurement Fraud Task Force Legislative Committee.
