Washington, D.C. — Today, Congressman Steve Buyer, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, released the following Veterans Day message:

“Every November, Americans take pause from normal daily activities to commemorate the service and sacrifice of the millions of veterans who wore the uniform of our country. Since our nation’s founding, these brave individuals have provided the assurance that the United States would remain the land of the free. Their selfless actions have saved millions of people from the boot of oppression and made the world a better place.”

“On this Veterans Day, I encourage all Americans to make it a special day of remembrance by honoring the men and women who have made extraordinary sacrifices to preserve our liberty and way of life. I join with all Americans in thanking them for their service.”
