Representative Waxman is committed to early education programs that provide critical education funding for young children in need. He has long been a proponent of increased funding for Head Start and Early Head Start, and was a strong supporter of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. By the end of 2010, this recovery money will have provided an additional $1 billion and $1.1 billion for Head Start and Early Head Start, respectively, as well as $2 billion for the Child Care and Development Block Grant.
